Sim-to-Real Transfer for a Robotics Task: Challenges and Lessons Learned
Jakob Jonas Rothert, Fraunhofer IFF
Abstract: In our current study we have intensively dealt with the challenges of domain transfer. The presentation focuses on the transfer of simulation-trained models to real robots. Our results show important aspects:
- Efficiency and training time are critical: It is important to develop methods that improve these factors.
- Preparing for domain transfer: Our approach ensures that models can be successfully transferred from simulation to reality.
- Importance of domain transfer evaluation: By performing a sim-to-sim transfer, we thoroughly test the transferability before the real robot comes into play.
Target Audience: The presentation is particularly relevant for professionals and decision makers in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence who are involved in the implementation of advanced robotic systems in the real world.
Why you should attend: Discover how to bridge the gap between simulation and real-world application. Take the opportunity to benefit from our extensive research and practical experience, which is essential for the development of safe and effective robotic systems.
We look forward to welcoming you to session TT07 to explore innovative solutions and advances in robotics together.
